World population at 7,000,000,000 – and 33,000,000 for Uganda.
On 31th Oct 2011 one of the children born will make the world’s population total up to 7billion people in the world. Uganda's total population will be 33million.
The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon will unveil the stop-clock that is counting down towards the day when the 7billionth life will be born.
India having the highest number of babies born in a day stands a greater chance of having this child born in their country.
It is everyone’s responsibility to intervene and participate in activities that check on or regulate rates of population growth in their respective nations.
In Uganda through the Joint Population (JPP) that was launched in June 2011, the United Nations came together under 10 of its agencies in conjunction with the Ugandan government to sensitize masses about the effects of such an alarming population increase in the country. The JPP is on-going and will run for 4 years.
